Sensei Velibor Vesovic visiting South Africa in May

The South African Aikido Association takes great pleasure in hosting Sensei Velibor Veso in South Africa between 20 and 31 May 2016. Veso Sensei is 6th dan Aikikai  and a recognised Russian systema instructor – seamlessly unifying both arts in his practice and teaching. We welcome all Aikidoka to join us during this period at our Linden dojo – situated at 2nd floor, 41 – 7th Street, Linden, to share what will be yet another memorable experience with Veso Sensei.

We will be hosting a weekend seminar on 27-29 May 2016. Training will be

  • Friday: 18:00-20:00
  • Saturday: 09:00-12:00 and 15:00-18:00
  • Sunday: 09:00-12:00

Costs will be R800 for entire weekend or R300 per session

Durban Aikido hosts Darko Sensei for dynamic training camp

“Integrate your natural reflexes into your aikido”: this was one of the key themes that emerged during the South African Aikido Association’s final camp for 2013. The camp was held in Durban, with Durban Aikido Club hosting Darko Vucetic Sensei as the guest instructor and examiner.

Durban Aikido, under Kevin Gouden Sensei, is renowned for both its martial spirit and its openness to new ideas. The gathering of Durban and Joburg aikidoka received Darko Sensei’s classes with a palpable determination to learn – and a seriousness that had Darko Sensei (who often spices his demonstrations with humour) assuring the more junior practitioners that it’s okay to smile while on the mat. December Seminar in Durban with Sensei Darko Vucetic

Sensei Darko will be teaching another seminar in Durban on 6-8 December. Any Aikido practitioners from SA are welcome to attend if they have plans to be in Durban for that weekend.

The seminar will be held at the KZN Public Service Training Academy Building, 80 Bartle Road, Glenwood, Durban
Fee: R400 per person for the weekend

Accommodation is available for Johannesburg dojo students at a nearby B&B. Costs per night is between 200 and 250 rand per night including breakfast.
